OVERVIEW:
Located on the Mustang High School campus in Mustang, Oklahoma, the Mustang Performing Arts Center serves as the district’s premier venue for performing arts education and community events. Designed by MA+ Architecture (Oklahoma City, OK), the 58,000-square-foot facility supports a wide range of performances and programs, including a 1,500-seat main auditorium and a flexible black box theater.
In collaboration with MA+ Architecture, Moz metal panels were used to create distinctive architectural features at the entrance and within the interior of the black box theater. At the theater entrance, Moz provided laser-cut panels for the entry soffit and ceiling, where the Criss Cross pattern in a silver metallic powder finish is backlit, allowing light to pass through the pattern and create a striking illuminated effect that welcomes visitors into the space.
Inside the theater, custom angled panels installed along the balcony fronts continue the design language while adding dimensionality to the performance environment. In total, approximately 691 square feet of Moz panels were incorporated into the project.
